PORK & potato GRATIN
INGREDIENTS (for 4):
Potato:
800g potatoes
500 ml cream
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon fresh thyme
1 clove of garlic
salt, pepper
Pork:
400g piece of pork fillet
1 clove of garlic
2 sprigs of fresh sage
40g Cheddar cheese
6 slices of prosciutto/bacon
salt, pepper
1. Preheat the oven to 200 C.
2. Wash the potatoes, cut them into thin slices, then cook in the cream with the lid on for 10 minutes with all the spices. Check regularly if it does not stick/burn to the bottom of the pan.
3. Put a shallow casserole pan on high heat. Season the pork with sea salt, and black pepper and rub it with smashed garlic, then place in the pan with I tablespoon of olive oil and sear for 3 minutes, turning regularly. Remove the pork to a plate (without the burnt garlic pieces).
4. Remove the fat from the casserole pan and pour the potato slices (all together with the cream) into it. Grate over the cheese, sit the sage leaves and the pork on top, lay the prosciutto around, and then put it into the oven. Bake it until everything looks golden brown and delicious. (about 45 min.)
