Salted Caramel


 

INGREDIENTS

400 g sugar
165g butter
250ml double cream
½ teaspoon sea salt

METHOD
1. In a large saucepan, gently melt the sugar over low-medium heat, swirling the pan consistently until it reaches a golden amber colour.
2. Remove from the heat, stir in the butter and the cream in small amounts until melted. Be careful! (It will split and steam!) Return the saucepan to heat if needed. Stir in the sea salt and then remove from the heat.
3. Pour into a clean, sterilized jar and allow to cool.
Store in the fridge before you eat.
